Does anyone know who James McK. Masters was? In the 1900 Pickens County, South Carolina census, I found the following:
James McK. Masters
wife: Ellis (I assume this is Ellis Clark (4-8-1880 Greenville Co., SC/10-10-1957 Transylvania Co., NC)
children: George F. (later found to be George Fields Masters). George Fields Masters was a cousin (not sure how close) to my grandfather, Columbus Masters (1919-1984). He's my only link so far.
The oldpendleton gedcom states that Ellis was married to Luther Masters, son of William Earple Masters and Ella Mae Roberts, grandson of John Calhoun Masters and Nancy Omy Ashworth, and great-grandson of William M. Masters and Temperence Cassell. Therefore, the census info is confusing. I'm only assuming that this is the same Ellis - because I can't find any other female by that name - ANYWHERE.
Can anyone help???? THANKS!!!
