I need some help on the identity of Capt. James McClure who married Esther McJunkin. They were residing in Union County, SC, before moving into the Old Pendleton District near the Tugaloo River (present Pickens County) sometime just after the Revolution. He seems to have vanished. I have an old family letter that proves Esther still alive as of 1838, living near "Old Keowee," but obviously a widow by about 1833. She was the great aunt of Samuel Sumter McJunkin who died near Walhalla in 1907. Any help appreciated. bobhist@yahoo.com
