HENDRICKS - Pickens County c. 1830

I am fascinated with your Levi Hendricks line because I have an Emeline Hendricks b. 1816/1817 in VA who moved c. 1834 to Cass County, MI where she married Alanson Parks. The family says that everyone was named for someone and the names we cannot associate with the Parks side are Almerion, Ardilla, Charlotte, Stephen, Levi, Jerome, Emeline and John.

Emeline's father was supposed to be John and they allegedly moved from VA [WV now] through TN, KY before settling. I cannot find any relatives named Hendricks in Cass County and don't know where she lived prior to then.

It is said that during the Civil War, Emeline had relatives fighting on both sides [one of her sons fought in the war]. However, the combination of Levi and Emeline Hendricks in Pickens County is striking as the names are unusual. So, any family rumors of northern cousins? Any links to the other unusual names?

Cheryl
