Wm. K. Hargis born abt. 1818 is the son of Abraham Hargis and wife Elizabeth Kilpatrick who both resided in Pendleton District, SC where they were married in 1810. They migrated to Alabama, then to near Philadelphia, Neshoba Co, MS. They both are buried in Phillips Cemetery in Neshoba County.
I am still trying to differentiate between two different Abraham Hargis's found in online sources. One born 10 Sep 1763 (son of William Hargis and Elizabeth Jay) and the other born 1781 (son of Abraham Lea Hargis and Elizabeth Kilgore). As far as I can tell, Abraham, son of William, migrated from Person Co., NC to Battle Creek, Marion, TN and married Rebecca Caroline Floyd. The other Abraham is listed by one source as having married a second Elizabeth Kilgore. Many sources do not list a spouse for him. Many sources have confused the two Abrahams citing different birthdates and parents. To make matters more worse, they both may have died in 1864.
I suspect that the Abraham born in 1781 actually married Elizabeth Kilpatrick in 1810 and this would close-up a missing link in my tree. Anyone with supporting or refuting information?
