William Wooodcock supposedly married a Mary Palmer in New Hanover Co about 1779. With his war service, he was granted land in New Hanover Co. [present-day Pender Co] on Moore's Creek, where their son, William, was born. He then sold off most of his land about 1783 and moved to Orangeburg Dist. South Carolina, where he served as a Constable in Winton, South Carolina. William and Mary had five more children: Mary, Elizabeth, Nancy, Jane, and John [from whom we are descended]. Mary died about 1796.
