I have located the following information from PETITIONS FOR LAND FROM THE SOUTH CAROLINA COUNCIL JOURNALS VOLUME 1:1734/5-1748 by Brent H. Holcomb
Meeting of Thursday P.M.the 14th May 1747
Page 95:Read the humble Pet'n of ROB'T ROGERS shewing that the Pet'r being lately arrived in this Province and having Family right of 150 acres of land prays his Excell'cy and his Honor that they would be pleased to Issue a Warrant to lay out to him 150 acres of land in the Township of AMELIA. The pray'r thereof was granted.
I have been searching the lines of John Rogers who died in 1790 and his son Joseph Rogers who was born in 1750 in Amelia County(Virginia). If you are searching these lines or if you can provide any information on Rob't Rogers I would very much like to share information with you. Any help would be greatly appreciated and I thank you in advance.
Also any help on the Township of Amelia would be most appreciated. What were the dates or there any books or articles about the history of Amelia that I could research.
