I am descended from John F. Sullivan who died in Walhalla. In the 10 Feb 1887 Keowee Courier, his obit/death notice follows:

“We regret to learn that Mr. J. F. Sullivan died on the 2d instant, after a short illness. He was buried in the Baptist graveyard, after appropriate funeral services by Rev. J. E. Fogartie. Mr. Sullivan was a member of the Walhalla Baptist Church. He was a native of North Carolina and left a wife and children and friends to mourn their loss.”

Maybe this is a crazy question, but where is the Baptist graveyard? - I drove around and didn't see one near the First Baptist Church in town.

I'd also be interested in talking with anyone from this line. To my knowledge, his son, Thomas Mitchell Sullivan, is my gggrandfather.

Regards, Jane
