John Shannon, D.+/- 1815, Pendleton Co. SC Need help!

I have been searching for the Will and probate records for John Shannon who, it is generally accepted, died +/- 1815 in Pendleton District/County, SC. I need exact birth and death dates, and to determine that he did, indeed, die in SC and not out of state.

John Shannon was the son of Thomas Shannon, Sr. (b.+/- 1735) who married Ellinor (perhaps Ringie, although not proven) +/- 1751. I have a "guesstimated" birth year for John of +/- 1760.

The family of Thomas Shannon, Sr. came to Wilkes County, Georgia, having applied for land grants within the "Ceded Lands" in September, 1773.

The family of Thomas Shannon, Sr. had been in Pittsylvania, VA in March of 1770 where the first child, Sarah Margaret Shannon married Lewis Salmon(s).

Thomas Shannon, Sr. had three (3) sons, Thomas, Jr., John, and Owen. All four Shannon males served in some capacity during the Revolutionary War, and received bounty land grants for that service. A DAR application for Thomas, Sr. listed his service as "refugee service"...what is that?

John Shannon, son of this Thomas Shannon, Sr. married Sarah Perkins of Pendleton District/County,SC, and they raised their family in Pendleton District/County, SC. The family is recorded on the 1790, 1800, and 1810 census for Pendleton.

The census information for John Shannon's household accounts for six (6) sons and 1 daughter. I can only account for 4 sons and 0 daughters. I am certain, however, that this is the right family on the census. Another researcher acknowledged he had seen a copy of the will which names all the children.

I need help with this.

Thank you for your time and attention to my plea.

Maggie Robinson
