George and Melvina R(isner) Gilliam

I am looking for burial information on George Gilliam d. 26 Sep 1937 and Melvina R Gilliam d. 13 Aug 1954. I have found burial information on some of their children, but have just recently found their dates of death. They moved back and forth from Oconee County, SC and Hart County, GA. They are both listed as passing in Oconee County.

I am sending away for copies of their death certificates, but would like to find out more about them in Oconee County.

George is my great-great grandfather. Melvina is his second wife. My great grandfather lists her as his mother, but unless I can prove her date of birth, That's quite impossible as she would have only been 5 years old at the time. *Note, her date of birth is still questionable at this time* I do know that George was married once before Melvina. His middle initial is A. I suspect from a 1870 census that the A could be for Andrew. This is just speculation on my part. If so, then I've finally found his parents. While I don't know where, George was born in South Carolina... as were his parents. Melvina was born in Hart Co. GA.

Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Jacinda
