I have a woman named Martha Matilda Cox who was born in Pickins County, ajoining Oconee County and she married a Mr. Pitts. She was widowed by 1888. I have a letter from her brother in Westminster to her brothers to send her and her family to them in either Arkansas or Oklahoma. One of her sons Tom Pitts became an atorney or at least worked in the law office of one of her brothers in Tahlequah Oklahoma. I do think this could be the same connected Pitts family.
