I WAS TOLD STORIES ABOUT BLACK TURKS IN THE FAMILY, WHEN I WAS A LITTLE GIRL LIVING IN SUMTER, S.C. WE WOULD STAND ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD (BROAD ST.) TO CATCH THE GREYHOUND BUS TO STATESBURGH OR STATEBOUG AND VISIT AN UNCLE NAME SHERIDAN WEB,WHO'S ANCESTORS ARE THE OXENDINE'S.THERE ARE COUSIN'S STILL LIVING IN SUMTER, THAT ARE RELATIVES TO THE TURKS I WILL HAVE MORE INFORMATION LATER. I DO KNOW THAT 17 OR 1800'S STATESBURG WAS CALL HIGH HILLS,AND THERE WAS A CHURCH HIGH HILLS BAPTIST, WITH A GRAVEYARD OF ANCESTORS.
BENNANHALY'S & OXENDINE'S ARE COUSINS I WAS TOLD.
