Hi Doris:I saw your post today and have just run across this connection of "Black Dutch" to Indians. And it is very interesting indeed.
I noticed your ggg grandmother was Indian and born in 1821.This is really great.
I am trying to track the background of my ggg grandmother who was Indian, born in 1823 and died in 1903.
We are hitting brick walls all over the place. We also, too, have a picture of her.I would be interested in seeing your ggg grandmother.I at first said my ggg grandmother did not look Indian. But then someone pointed out to me that many Chickasaw and Cherokee passed for white and had fine features, with the women being very petite.
If you have any tips to share on how you are linking your ggg grandmother to Black Dutch, can't wait to hear.My ggg grandmother's name was TENNESSEE PORTER OUTLAW, which to me sounds sort of "historical" maybe with words that were meaningful to her.We have not been able to link her to anyone named Porter or Outlaw yet!
Thanks.
Pam
