Son of Unknown Hutchins and Fanny Unknown born abt 1801 possibly in TN or SC as various census list both and died after Jan 2, 1877 at which time she filed for a pension for dec. husband, John Nichols, she was living in Travis County with her son James W. Nichols on the 1870 Travis Co., Census
Mar 21, 1864 agreement for legal representatives of John Nichols; lists Fanny as wife and her children Martha Manning and John Hutchins and then Fanny's other children with John Nichols
John Hutchins born abt. 1823 (no proof of this date, found in ancestry) in GA (state born from a daughters death certificate and several census)
1836 or 37 claimed money for beeves (Austin County) used by the Rep. of Texas Army
Conditional Certificate dated 1839 at San Felipe, Texas and issued 1845 for 320 acres
Married Amanda Maxwell license issued on Feb. 12, 1845 in San Felipe
Listed on 1846 through 1887 tax list of Austin County, Texas

There was another John Hutchins from Sequin because he is listed in a lot of the Rep. of Tex. files
Sister Martha married John William Manning in Austin County
First son named Anthony Hutchins Manning
Another son, Edmund Roach Manning, a doctor in the Journal of Medicine, his bio states that his father and mother were both descendants of old aristocratic families of South Carolina.
In St. John's Parrish, Colleton, SC there is an Anth Hutchins listed in the 1820 census,
