Chronologically here are some of the collaborators over the past 30 years who contributed to careful confirmation that so many of the Mosley/Moseley families of SC GA NC AL TX etc in the USA descend from the 6 Sep 1617 London England marriage ("Licenses granted by the Bishop of London") of Abigail Smith , aged 27 at her above 1617 marriage, but bapt [ca. age 11?] may 1601 St Nicholas Acons Parish—and died aft 1661 Rotterdam, Netherlands dtr of Robert Smith and Alice Harrison who md 1 dec 1695 St Botolph Aldgate Parish, London, England --------and Abigail’s husband William Moseley born 1590 Wells, Somerset, England (quite possibly son of a Moseley father born in Shropshire) and d. aft 1654 then in Rotterdam, Netherlands
Thomas Byrd Moseley (1915 TX – 2006 TX)published two Moseley genealogies during 1980’s presenting a variety of records relevant to someday tracing his ancestry back to Britain. He may have listed that 1617 marriage among 1000 other records.
Thomas Faulconer...by James G Faulconer & Tommy L. West 1994 Gateway Press in Maryland USA detailed many Moseley records from 1600s in Rappahannock Co VA and Essex Co VA, but didn’t identify that Moseley ancestry correctly.
Late 1990s Iris Borg of CA , James W Terry of MO, and collaborators, showed how many of today’s SC, NC, GA AL TX Mosley/Moseley families descend from Wm Moseley of Essex Co VA in the late 1600s and early 1700s.
2000 Moseley book 1 and 2 by D’Aiutolo, Forsythe, Mitton & Hubard, especially book 2, summarized the above family tree discoveries.
2008 Jim White ofthe Greenfield, MO area, partly in return for my 400 dollar donation, sent an 80 page descendancy without enough specific documentation, but with clearly asserted descendancy of William Moseley line of Essex Co VA from the above 6 Sep 1617 London, England marriage.
Jan 2014 Richard L. Moseley of USA finished months of reading original British Moseley probate records from the very early 1600s and confirmed in detail that the Wm Moseley of Essex Co VA family line almost certainly [as certainly as is usually possiblewith evidence 4 centuries ago] descends from the above 6 Sep 1617 marriage: [his report of that confirmation with this past week says: ]

Richard Moseley these past few months has made awesome discoveries in English
documents!
Now, for an encore, he seems to have discovered the English origin of
Wm Moseley of Essex Co VA, ancestor of so many Carolina Mosley/Moseley
families!
~~You do such awesome work Richard!
I never expected to see such a firm connection of Southern Colony
Mosleys/Moseleys back to across the Atlantic, during my lifetime

•Note:
Looking at your ID I12382 you have Essex William as son of William who married
Abigail Smith. While I don't disagree with this I would like to correct or
clarify Abigail's birth date. One of the abstracts of the marrriage licenses
has her age as "about 27" when she married William in 1617 which would make her
born about 1690. You have her baptized in 1601. You have said baptism were
sometimes much later so that might be the case here.
•Note:
For now, and tentatively, I am identifying our Essex William as the William
Moseley b. 11/16/1625 who entered the Merchant Taylors School in 1638 and was a
head scholar in 1642. I am relying on the facts that a William Underwood also
attended the Merchant Taylors School entering in 1634 and that a William
Underwood was married to a sister or was somehow related to (his son called him
uncle) and "transported" our Essex William to Virginia. Also because of the
Merchant Taylors School connection I am putting William Moseley Merchant Taylor
who married Abigail Smith in 1617 as his father which of course agrees with ID
I12382. It's just that Merchant Taylor is not the son of Leatherseller but
perhaps you have it correct as William Moseley born 1566 in London who was son
of Edward Moseley and Judith Gerard who is not the Lancashire Edward.
•Note: Will do more digging.
