Dianah Knight and Thomas Uderback/Uddyback
Jazzy bell 3/31/13
1870 census, Valdosta, Lowndes Co., GA:
Uderback, Thomas, age 35, b. VA, mulatto, farmer
Uderback, Dianah, age 33, b. GA, mulatto
Uderback, Jackson, age 15, b. GA, mulatto
Uderback, Sarah, age 13, b. GA, mulatto
Uderback, Harriet, age 9, b. GA, mulatto
Uderback, Richard, age 4, b. GA, mulatto
Uderback, Moses, age 1, b. GA, mulatto
Bensheaby, Queen, age 58, b. GA
1880 census, Naylor, Lowndes Co., GA:
Udderback, Thomas, age 44, b. VA, mulatto, carpenter, parents b. VA, mulatto
Udderback, "Teaner", age 42, b. GA, parents b. GA, mulatto (is this Dianah, or has Thomas married again - look at the gap in ages in the children between 14 and 5)
Udderback, Richard, age 14, b. GA, father b. VA, mother b. GA, mulatto
Udderback, Clementine, age 5, b. GA, father b. VA, mother b. GA, mulatto
Udderback, Ramon, age 2, b. GA, father b. VA, mother b. GA, mulatto
Udderback, Thomas L., grandson, age 3, parents b. GA (this must be Jackson's son)
Knight, Basheba, mother-in-law, age 66, b. GA, parents b. GA, black
It is probable that Basheba (Bathsheba??) was born a slave, and probably so was Dianah. You could look for slave schedules for any white Knight in Lowndes Co. in 1860, but usually they do not name slaves, only give sex and ages.
Sorry I couldn't be help.
