Have you searched the SC Dept of Archives and History online? There are four will manuscripts that mention a Sarah Bridges, but one in particular because of the date that might interest you.
It is for a Thomas Bridges. It is dated 1782 [she would be 8]. She is the first person mentioned in his will but he does not say how she is related. She could be a daughter from a previous marraige or a niece or possibly a sister though he mentions his elderly mother.
At the very least it begs for investigation. Research here...
