Hi Sandra and thanks for your response.
Actually, we have looked at Laben/Labon Walker quite a bit over the years. For the most part, he & Rebecca are great candidates to be the parents of Hansford D. Walker. The problem we've run into is that we haven't been able to find that one piece of hard evidence/documentation that actually links Laben & Hansford together. We think their paths from S.C. to Mississippi are quite similar, which could definitely indicate a relationship to some degree. But Hansford's movements also mirror closely that of Francis Walker & his family as well, although we haven't found a leak there either.
We've also looked at two or three different Hezekiah Walker's from the Barnwell/Egdefield areas. They have also looked promising as well and could be related to Hansford in one way or another. One of them came to Mississippi from S.C. in about the same time frame. At several points I've leaned to Laben as Hansford's father & Hezekiah as a brother, but haven't been able to link the three, or even two of them, together as of yet.We seem to be so close at times but can't get that final link in the chain.
As for the name "Hansford", it is somewhat unusual. We've seen it in a few places in that area of S.C. and I've got a cousin who's working different angles on how Hansford got his name.It could have come from his mother's side or other close family for sure.
Thanks again for your response.Appreciate it and if you run across something, please give me a shout.
