Daniel or Dan HANCE DOB prior to 1828 NC, SC, AR

I have been researching the HANCE family. Have come to a dead end with Daniel M. Hance who was born in 1828 or 1829 in probably South Carolina. One census says South and one census says North Carolina. He eventually ended up in Arkansas where he married Mary (Polly) Ham(m).
To this union was born my great grandfather -
William Greeny Hance who married Dora Grey Hance. I have all info from there but would love to know the father of Daniel M. Hance!
My grandfather's family Bible says that William Greeny Hance father AND grandfather were both Daniel or Dan.
If anyone knows - please share.
Thanks
Shirley Scruggs Ridge
