Descendants of William McCown, York Co., South Carolina, 1790 Census

On Dec. 24, 2011, I posted for Leander McCown, a son of
Lawrence McCown and reputedly the grandson of William McCown.

In order to prove the relationship between our Lawrence and William of York County, we need to find a male descendant of William descended from another of his sons,
if any, to take the Family Tree Y-DNA test. We already have proof of Lawrence's DNA from his first born son, also William, and his second born son, Eli, so a test by a descendant of Leander, Lawrence's third son could not prove anything about a relationship to William of York Co.

Please don't hesitate to post a follow-up to this post if you had knowledge that you are definitely descended from
William McCown of York Co., SC. Also, you should have access to my email address from this website if you post a follow-up. I am very interested in corresponding with a male descendant of William with the McCown Surname.
