I would write to the county clerk in Columbus County (Columbus was formed from Alachua) and have them look for a marriage record from the 1860's for James and Laura and see if that helps you. Columbia County Clerk of Courts is located at 173 NE Hernando Avenue,Lake City Fl. 32055. A marriage certificate is $5.00.
