Hi,

I'm interested in any info about the ancestry or descendants of the Jonathan Bryant (also possibly known as John Bryant, Jonathan Bryan, or John Bryan) described below:

Jonathan BRYANT was born about 1759 in Norwich, Norfolk, England. He emigrated in 1788 from England to the U.S. He may have lived in Leicester Township,Worcester County Massachusetts or in Freetown Township, Bristol County, Mass. in 1790. He lived in Charleston, SC in 1793.

Jonathan BRYANT and Jane THORNTON were married on 8 Oct 1794 in Charleston, SC. Jane THORNTON was born between 1756 and 1765 in Canterbury, England. She died before 1830 in Charleston, SC.

Jonathan's obituary from the Charleston Times reads:
"Mr. Jonathan Bryan (sic) d. Oct. 2, 1808. Gardener & Clerk of the Markets, 49th year. Native of Norfolk, England. America 20 years, Charleston 15 year, left widow and three young children." Charleston Times p. 207.

Jonathan Bryant may have been the John Bryant who was baptized in 1760 (Norwich St. Helens) and who was the son of Charles Bryant and Martha Narborough. Charles Bryant was a Botanist who wrote "The Flora Diaetetica or history of Esculent Plants."

I'm trying to confirm that Jonathan Bryant (1759-1808) was the father of the following person:

Jonathan "John" BRYANT was born in 1795 in South Carolina. He moved before Oct 1841 to Knox Co. KY. He moved after Jun 1850 to Whitley Co. KY, on the Clear Fork River. He died on 1 Jul 1860 in Whitley Co. KY. He was married to Sena (or Cenia) Bryant, who died about Jun 1850 in Knox Co. KY.

Thanks for any info!
