We may have discussed something in the past, but I don't remember what it was.

The link I sent you earlier, did you look under infranty units for the 5th. I see several entires for the 5th there but not the company you're looking for.

Somewhere (maybe a history book), I've seen reconstruction defined as the period following the end of the civil war when the north basically took over and governed the southern states for several years. Perhaps the regiment you're looking for information on was part of a northern occupation army, or something like a home-guard that the north recruited in the south to maintain law and order.

The confederate army frequently reorganized regiments/companies because of the drain of manpower from casualties.
