Hello Linda,
I am not related.Genealogy is my hobby.
There were two William Jenkins enlisted from SC in the Revolutionary War.
One applied for a pension in Jackson County Alabama 1832 (# S.31774)(age 71) This one did not mention anyone as family, but mentioned several men as character witnesses. It does say he had lived in York, SC and volunteered with Captain Thomas Jenkins. He also lived in GA for awhile.
The other one applied for pension in Wilkinson, GA. (# S. 38080) (1820-67 years old)He stated he was married with three children, but they did not live together and they were unable to help him in his indigent situation.
You said he MIGHT be from the Union County area...
I cannot tell you the will of Randolph Jenkins of Union SC (found at the SC Dept of Archives and History) is your ancestor, but it does mention a William Jenkins...Because York, Spartanburg and Union County are in such close proximty, it may be difficult to decide which is which!
