I am trying to find some information on the McCormick side of my Husbands side of the family. We have started searching the forums on the genealogy sites,where I got your email. thought you sounded like a connection. Here is some information so that maybe you can contact me and let me know if I am headed in the right direction or not.
Joseph E McComic was born in Georgia then around 1870 after getting out of the
army he traveled with John Louis (Lewis) McCormick said to be brothers to Sabine parish Louisiana. I also have another Brother listed but no information James something about went to prison and never heard of again.Parents are said to have been born in south Carolina.
Joseph married 1st Minnie Powodrel (not sure of the spelling of last name). died 1904
then he married a Mary Rachel Palmer that was half Indian believe Choctaw or Cherokee in 2/18/1875. She had two children that went by Mitchell (last name). They then had Jasper Elija and John Louis.Not clear on a James.
Jasper married Georgia ann. Bussey and had 12 Kids
John Married Sarah Carter and had 7 kids
then one of his kids had was also a John Louis and married Susan Eason in 1866
and had 8 and Susan died 1900 and he then married Sally Eldridge 1901 and had 3 more children.
If any of these names might be a connection Please contact me, We would love to find some of the other family and trace the line back some more.
