I was looking through a published list of North and South Carolina early marriages. I found this:
Alexander J. Matheson married Sarah E. Jarnigan, April 20, 1780. Marion Co., SC.
No sources were given for specific records.
Do either of these names ring a bell for anyone? Does anyone know what might have happened to the couple?
I have been researching an Alex. Mathewson in North Carolina and wondered if there might be some connection. I know folk sometimes travelled a long ways to trade or whatever.
I realise the county structure was much different then, but this is all I have too work with.
