Lee County Cem Records:
Martha, I will be eternally grateful to you! Now because of you I have completed the names of all my Great-Grandfather, Archibald McCallum's Siblings. I had everyone except Hugh and without dates of death I could not confirm that he was a brother. You are an Angel for helping so many people. I knew that this brother had died about 1834 and lay buried beside brother Duncan in old Sumter Dist.but did not have his name. I do not know if he was ever married. I believe that Duncan's wife Malsey(?) must have remarried and moved away or that she cannot be identified with a new married name. Some of them had lived in old Marlboro in 1832 when sister Anna Jane McCallum met her husband Wm. Rogers and one year later married him. She had been living with brothers there. Her mother Agnes Jane, had died in Tn. when she was very young, abt. 8 years old. Her father Wm. Daniel remarried, wife's name unk.
Are there marriage records for Lee Co./old Sumter Dist. that far back? I hope to go there in person sometime this coming summer.
May I compensate you for all your trouble?
Jean T. Edge
