1850 Census of Liberty County, Georgia states that Jacob was 62. This would indicate that he was born circa 1788. Where?? Who knows. He was married in the 1820 Census to his first wife and married his second wife Mrs. Loranza Lowe Smart in 1825 in Liberty County, Georgia. She had several children living with her when she married Jacob. Jacob had 5 girls ( Mary, Elizabeth, Sarah, Louisa, and Celia) and 2 boys (unknown and Simeon Alexander Simms/Sims, Sr.). Jacob was very active member of the Primitive Baptist Church in Liberty County, Georgia. I have a copy of his will dated 1852 before his death in 1853. He names 4 of his daughters but none of his sons. I have a copy of a court case which names his son Simeon. I have read that a great number of settlers in Liberty County, Georgia, came from Dorchester, South Carolina. Somewhere I have heard about Sims's in Laurens County, South Carolina. I also have information where Jacob partitioned for a Land Warrant in 1835. This is all I have on Jacob and it seems that I am unable to locate anymore. If I lived closer to Liberty County, Georgia, then maybe I could do more research. Any help would be appreciated
