Hi,

Looking for info about James Parker, his full name was Silas James Parker. I think he's the same James Parker, in 1850 Laurens Co. census, as being born in 1829. He's in the home of Margaret Parker, born 1805, apparently his mother. Who was his father? In same house, is younger brother, Thomas Parker, born 1838.

I think this is the same James Parker who married Mahulda Story, about 1854, in Laurens, or Greenville County. Mahulda Story was the daughter of Kindred Story, and Delila Henderson, and they lived in Fairview township, Greenville County. After James Parker and Mahulda Story were married, they went to Franklin County, Georgia, and were in 1860 census, house head, Silas J. Parker.

Silas James Parker enlisted from Franklin County, Aug. 24, 1861, in Georgia 24th Inf. Company H, Capt. Mosley's Division. James Parker allegedly died in an army hospital in Washington, North Carolina on Dec. 25, 1861.

His wife moved back to Greenville after the War.

Any info on this James Parker, of Laurens would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Rickey Godfrey
