Hi,
Trying to find out anything about Nelson Garrett, or Garret, who were his parents and siblings? Nelson is supposed to have been born about 1830, who married Rachel Story, born c. 1834, daughter of Kindred Story, and Delila Henderson. I think Kindred Story's family, was in the 1850 Census in the Standing Springs community, of Greenville County, fairly close to the Laurens county line, so thought Nelson Garrett must have lived in Greenville or Laurens County. Nelson Garrett or Garret must have married Rachel Story about 1853, they had a son, Madison Lafayette Garrett born about 1856.
I'd greatly appreciate any info anyone might have. I, myself, do not know anything about this Garrett family. My gggrandmother, wasRachel Story's sister, Mahulda Story, who married Silas James Parker, perhaps from Laurens. My gggrandfather, James Parker went to Franklin County, Georgia in the 1850's, he's there as Silas J. Parker on 1860 Census, and died in the Civil War in Washington, NC, Dec. 25, 1861.
Wondering also about Nelson garrett's Civil War record.
