as indicated i have an interest in william roberts per my interest in my harris/ goode families and the ligon family in mecklenburg/ halifax cos, va and these connections are also more involved.
can someone tell me if this was the same william roberts of mecklenburg/ halifax co, va whose daughter mary ann roberts married richard shackleford, son of roger shackleford also of halifax co, va?
richard shackleford was enumerated on the 1790 laurens co, sc census adjacent my william harris, jr/ frances rodgers and in 1789, per laurens co, sc deeds, my mackerness goode, sr's sons, samuel goode and mackerness goode, jr, who were in edgefield co, sc, sold their land in laurens co, sc to richard shackleford.
laurens co, sc deed book C, page 192, 1789, mackerness goode, gentleman, of edgefield co, sc to richard shackleford, pastor of the baptist church, for 500 pds, 500 acres on the beaverdam creek of little river, original grant 10/ 30/ 1767 bordered on cornelius cargill; david craddock; john box; william arthur. witnesses: samuel goode; joseph cox; francis brooks. silvanus walker, j.p.

as i re-note, only the deed re our mackerness goode, jr states that he was of edgefield co, sc. i also know that our mackerness goode, jr died
this is indicated to have been our mackerness goode, sr's son samuel goode, who married jemina davenport, daughter of joseph davenport, who died 1788 newberry co, sc.
does anyone know what happened to our samuel goode? where did he die?
