Sen. John Edwards - William & Mary Robertson Owings

According to the attached link, it states that William & Mary Robertson Owings of Laurens County are the 5th great grandparents of Sen. John Edwards. The book "Owings & Allied Families" does not list the children of William and Mary - in particular, I am very interested in a son named Richard Owings born in 1831. Thanks.
