Hi again Judy,

Ask your cousin if the home he was in was called Whitten Village. This was a wonderful home for the handicapped that was built 1919. There was a book written about it...

A HISTORY OF WHITTEN VILLAGE.
Author: Whitten, Benjamin O.
Clinton, SC, 1967, 188pp. The founder of SC's 1st facility for the handicapped tells its story & his autobiography.

I'm not sure, but I don't think this is a home for children anymore. I believe there is a small hospital there that is called Whitten Center.
