Notably, my connection to my mother's Davis family line is through her gr-grandmother Gillie Davis who married Daniel Melton. They lived in Chesterfield County. I'll admit I haven't actively researched the Rosier/Rozier/etc name very much but I know that it is an ancient name in South Carolina and as either a given or surname, dates back to the American Revolution.
