Samuel Boykin was born on July 7, 1795 in Camden Dist. SC. He was the son of Burwell Boykin (1753-1817) and Mary Whitaker, of Camden, SC. Samuel Boykin died on March 13, 1835. He married Fitzgerald G. Ross, daughter of Thomas Ross and Ann "Nancy" Mortimer of Charleston, SC on May 16, 1821. They may have married in Charleston. He had the following children:
1) Samuel Boykin, b. 1823, SC
2) Thomas Edward Boykin, M.D., b. 1826, SC, d. September 15, 1910 in Dallas Co. AL. He married Sarah Amelia Miller, daughter of Stephen Decatur Miller and his wife Mary Boykin, on December 11, 1850 at Grace Episcopal Church, Camden, SC.
3) Mary Boykin, b. about 1828, SC, m. 1) Henry William Ford and 2) Joseph Carruthers.
4) Burwell Boykin, b. November 30, 1830, SC., died before 1840.
5) Fitzgerald Ross Boykin, b. March 20, 1832, SC.
6) William Boykin, b. January 10, 1834, SC., died before 1840.
Does anyone know where Samuel Boykin is buried? Would like to correspond with any descendants of Samuel Boykin and Fitzgerald G. Glover. Will be glad to share what familyl information that I have.
