Beauregard General Johnson

Beauregard General Johnson B:1861/1862 D:1943, married Prudence "Joana" Smith.
On his death certificate it says his parents are Bill and Betsy Bruton.
There is a will on for a William Johnston, married to Elizabeth, and a will for his brother Joseph Johnston, one of these are more likely to be his grandparents because he was born 20 years after the wills were made.
The only Beauregard for the right dates, etc I could find is one with parents William and Elizabeth, 2 brothers Thomas R Johnson and Vandike Johnson, on Vandike's death certificate it says his mother's name was Elizabeth Sarvis.
Either one of the informant's could have been wrong.
My Line:
William and Elizabeth
Beauregard General and Prudence "Joana" Smith
Gurley Johnson and Nancy James (d/o EP James and Amanda Rabon

Also, there was a article Ive seen about a man who was in war with the real General Beauregard and then he named his child/children after him. I don't know of any relation.

Any information or clarification on this could be great.Thank you
