HAMPTON, SC (WIS) - A church in Hampton was nearly destroyed by fire early Sunday morning, according to local authorities. Officials say the fire department was called to the Sandy Run Baptist Church Sunday morning in Hampton. They say the church, which was built in 1834, caught fire around 5:30am. The Hampton Fire Department was able to control the blaze and save the social hall on the back of the building. Parishioners held a church service at 11:00am Sunday on the lawn of the pastor's house next door. SLED is currently investing the cause of the fire. Notify Administrator about this message?
