Hi Barbara!
Yes, I have this Catherine Fisher Gosnell!! She was the daughter of William Fisher (killed in KY) and Martha "Mattie" ??. We assume that Mattie was a McClure, but no documented proof. William killed in KY was the son of James Washington Fisher, SR and first wife, Mary Hollon/Holson. There is an oral tradition in our family that William was killed by the Indians in KY and his wife and children returned to SC to the Dark Corner. How do you descend from Catherine Fisher and Chester Charles Gosnell?

The 85th annual Fisher Family Reunion will be held 12 September 2009 at Lake Toxaway Baptist Church in Lake Toxaway, Transylvania Co, NC where James Fisher SR and other family members are buried. Sure hope you can make it!! Business meeting starts at 10:30am and lunch around noon (covered dish, buffet style.) I think I forgot to do a Save the Date announcement on the Genforum's for the area. I will remedy that in the next posting of the Reunion announcement.

Would love to swap info on Catherine's line with you. I have a cousin who comes out of Catherine through her son, Francis Marion Gosnell and also through Catherine's brother, William (Jr.). William (Jr.) looks so much like our line of Fisher's, it is unreal. However, we are looking for a male descendant of his to take the DNA test.

I was elected one of the Fisher Family Historians last year at the Reunion, so let me know if I can help you on the Fisher's. Looking forward to hearing from you. My email is: pacant1104@yahoo.com
