Grasping at straws here and wondering if you are researching people of color?
Have seen the WEST surname somehow connected to my WEEDEN,
WEELDON,WHELDON/BROWN AA/Native family line that continues
to be a mystery.
Find that they were in Georgetown, and Christ Church areas
of SC
