I am looking for any information on Abraham Moore and his wife Mary "Polly" Evans of the Florence and Williamsburg County areas of South Carolina. They had 6 children; Mohala Moore m. Jesse A Cook, Jemima Moore m. Martin Feagin, John J. Moore m. Magah Wilson, Robert Abraham Moore m. Caroline Matilda Barrineau, Evander E. Moore m. Eliza Postell, Benjamin C. Moore m. M.Agnes Evans and Hannah Sophronia Gray. What I really need to know is who are Abraham's parents and where did the family come from. I have most of the descendants from 1820 up. I think Abraham was born around 1797 and Mary Evans around 1790. I think his parents may have been named James and Jemima Moore because they were living in the area in 1807, but so far I have no proof. The only Moore's listed in the census in these areas are William Moore, James Moore, Jemima Moore and Abraham Moore so I assume they are somehow related. Any help is appreciated. I also suspect they may have came from North Carolina and maybe even from Ireland or England. I was told the Moore family arrived in South Carolina with the Evans, Feagins and McAllister families although I haven't been able to confirm this either.
