I am doing historical research on the wreck of Southern Ry. passenger trains Royal Palm and Ponce de Leon which collided head-on at my hometown Rockmart GA 12-23-1926. The engineer on engine 1456 pulling the Royal Palm was Arthur Morrison Corrie, who was born ca. 1866-68 Florence Co. SC and died 4-3-1940 in Atlanta. Corrie lived in Atlanta throughout his career with the railroad and until his death in 1940, but he and his first wife were natives of Florence SC. Would love to hear from anyone who may be related to Arthur Corrie who could help me locate a picture of him and/or any biographi-
cal details such as his dates of service with Southern Railway (and Sou. Ry. predecesssors--Southern Ry. was formed in 1894 from the merger of a number of smaller lines in the south). I would be delighted to talk with anyone who knew Arthur Corrie!
