Good to hear from you...James McQuatter signed his name as such.....sometimes an "S" was added...half the time it was spelled as McQuarter but you know all this stuff...James says on census he was born in Fairfield co......and just recently found out, that William Alexa nder's name wasn't Alexander... a relative with his large civil war picture took the back off and there in his granmother's handwriting was "My Father, William Arthur McQuatter"....and this is same Aunt who said his name was Alexander.....I knew none of the kids used the name Alexander but all used Arthur......
James born 1812 in Fairfield co. was some connection to the William McQuarters/McQuatters who had a mother named Sarah, buried there....there was quite a difference in their ages......but James didn't use the name Sarah...
