A word of caution about the Irvine family name in the Fairfield County Cemetery, Vol. II, listing on page 148. According to Heritage History of Chester County South Carolina, Vol. II, (1995, Taylor Publishing Company, Dallas, TX) by the Chester County Heritage Committee, Maj. James Pagan married Ann Callender Fayssoux on 24 Aug 1843 at Schuylkill, PA. She was the daughter of Peter Simons Fayssoux and Rebecca Armstrong DeRosenthal Irvine, which is how both the Irvine and Fayssoux names became attached to her children.
