State of South Carolina. Know all men by these presents that I William A. Ford of Fairfield District in the state aforesaid for and in consideration of the sum of five hundred dollars to me in hand paid by Nicholas A. Peay of the district and state aforesaid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have granted, bargained, sold and released and by these presents do grant, sell and release unto said Nicholas A. Peay all that plantation or tract of land situate, lying and being in Fairfield District in the state aforesaid on Morrison's Creek waters of the Wateree River bounded by land belonging to Thomas Starke, Anderson Roshall (Rochelle) and the estate of Willis Whitaker deceased containing one hundred and fifty acres which was conveyed to me by Sheriff W. Moore--together with all and singular the rights, members, hereditaments and appurtenances to the said premises {illegible} or in any wise incident or appertaining to have and to hold all and singular the premises before mentioned unto the said Nicholas A. Peay, his heirs and assigns forever. And I do hereby bind myself, my heirs, executors and administrators to warrant and forever defend all and singular the said premises unto the N. A. Peay, his heirs and assigns against myself and my heirs and against every person whomsoever lawfully claiming the same or any part thereof. Witness my hand and seal this twenty eighth day of September in the year of Our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty five and in the Sixtieth year of the Independence of the United States of America.
