SC Archives Online Search Engine (ANOTHER GREAT HELP SOURCE)

Our SC State Archives and History Center is the depository for all records filed in colonial/provincial SC when Charleston was the state capitol, prior to about 1785, when most of the current county/judicial districts were established.

The site has only recently become searchable online. This is an invaluable source of information for anyone researching South Carolina ancestors.
