Carter family early 1800's Fairfield Co, S.C.

My 2-greatgrandfather, Robert N. Carter, came from S.C.(possibly Fairfield Co) to Tippah (now Union) Co, Ms in the 1840's. His sister, Elizabeth C. Carter married Simeon Pannell, son of Zachariah Pannell, in Tippah Co, Ms in 1843.
Zacharia and several other Pannells were living near a Jesse Carter in Fairfield Co, S.C. in 1820. Also, nearby was Nicholas Roberts who was(later) the stepfather of Robert N. Carter's wife Nancy Rodgers Carter.
Any help in connecting my Robert N. Carter to this Jesse Carter or others would be greatly appreciated.
