John Barnett in Edgefield district, circa 1800
Posted by: Richard Barnett (ID *****7016) Date: July 05, 2004 at 11:07:34
  of 1566

Apparently a group of Augusta, Ga. settlers pulled up stakes in c. 1800, removed to Edgefield District, then later moved on to the Crab Creek section of Henderson Co., NC John Barnett operated a boat yard on the Savannah River, the location of which became the terminus of the Charleston to Hamburg railroad in 1830. Anyone have knowledge of their Edgefield period?
