Debbie - this is a really long shot but maybe we can compare more notes and make a connection.

I have a Mary Dicks (sister of my ggg+Grandmother Ann Dicks) who was identified as Mary Moss in an affidavit signed by Ann in 1834.

A William Moss died in Edgefield or Barnwell District SC and Joseph Dicks (brother to Ann & Mary I believe) was appointed administrator of his estate in 1791.

The 1790 Census lists Mary Moss as a Head of Household so I assume he died prior to the census. Some where I found names of Thomas Moss and Elizabeth and another (unknown name) daughter as the children of Mary & William Moss.

I believe Mary remarried to a Mr. Thomas around 1815.

I know this is sketchy but maybe you have the missing puzzle pieces to fit it together.

NOW I also have in my database (on mom's side the above is my dad's kin) an Elizabeth Moss born 1799 daughter of Gilbert who married Josiah Hambright son of Frederick Hambright (Josiah's half sister Elizabeth Hambright who married Joseph Jenkins is my direct ancestor) Is this the York County SC MOSS family you are researching?

Hope to hear from you soon. I love connecting loose ends in my data.
