Sandra, thanks for all the info. I believe that the Roland "Senr" (Sr?) referred to in the 1792 deed cited in your first response is either my gggg grandpa or his father. Question is: Which one married Susannah Bush, the Sr or the Jr? Since a namesake was in Wayne County, MS, by 1823, I lean toward the Sr, but time would have been sufficient for an intervening generation to come of age. And I have seen two Ancestry.com sites wherein Jr is referred to as the husband of Susannah.

Incidentally, I have seen one site attempting to trace President Bush's lineage to Susannah's family. Is this correct, to the best of your knowledge?
