Pp: 16-22. 5 Nov 1769: Elisha Brooks and Frances, his wife, of SC to William Martin for 300 pounds, sold 300 acres, being part of 400 acres, originally granted 13 Feb 1768 said Brooks on Ninety Six Mile Creek in Colleton Co. SC, adj. Elisha Fowler, Robert McCutchan and part by 100 acres of the original survey, now owned by John Harvey?, and George Burns, S/Elisha (X) Brooks, Frances Brooks, Wit: Samuel Savage, Richard (R) Brooks, David Cunningham, who swore by oath 8 Nov 1769 before John Savage, J.P. Rcd. 17 Mar 1790.
Pp. 23-29. 15 Feb 1769: Elisha Brooks of SC to William Martin, Planter, of SC for 150 pounds, sold 105 1/2 acres on Ninety Six Mile Creek in Berkley Co. SC, being part of 450 acres, originally granted 1 Feb 1768 to Elisha Fowler, who sold to James Johnson 15 & 16 Nov 1768, who sold 400 acres to said Brooks 26 &27 Dec 1768...Land adj. James Johnson, Samuel Ramsey and Elisha Brooks. S/ Elisha (X) Brooks, Wit: John Caldwell, Joseph Freeman, Samuel Goode, who swore by oath 4 Jul 1771 before John Caldwell, J.P. for Craven Co. SC. Rcd. 18 Mar 1790. Plat Certified 14t 1769 by John Caldwell. It shows a map with actual survey markings of property. On two sides of property neighbor is Elisha Brooks, one large side is neighbor J.L. Johnson, and last is Samuel Ramsey.
Pp. 30-36. 9 May 1770: John Tobler: Sr., Blacksmith, and Christian his wife, to Casper Nail, Planter, all of Granville Co., SC for 150 pounds, sold 75 acres, being part of 150 acres originally granted 23 Aug 1765 in Beach Island on Savannah River near New Windsor, adj. Tobler: Daniel Nail, Michael Meyers...the remainder of 150 acres grant was purchased by Tham Nail. S/ John Tobler, Christian Tobler. Wit: John Sturzenegger, David Zubly, who swore by oath 22 Jan 1772 before John Dick. Rcd. 19 Mar 1790.
