Henry Holland Sr. (1755 NC - lvg.1819 SC)
Posted by: Joe Spann Date: December 21, 2001 at 12:15:24
  of 1560

Henry Holland Sr. was born about 1755 in Bertie County, North Carolina. He was a son of Theophilus Holland (d.1760). It is assumed that Henry married in Bertie County about 1774. The identity of his wife is unknown.

Henry removed to Duplin County, North Carolina about 1789. He lived "at the head of Great Coharie Creek" near present-day Beamon's Crossroads. He remained there until about 1807 when he removed with his grown sons to Edgefield District, South Carolina. They purchased lands along the south fork of the Edisto River probably located in present-day Aiken County.

Henry and his wife are believed to be the parents of the following children:

1) Henry Holland Jr. - born abt 1775, removed to Walker County, Alabama
2) John Holland Sr. - born abt 1777, removed to Henry County, Alabama.
3) Harphey Holland - born abt 1785, removed to Sumter County, Alabama.
4) Daniel Holland - born abt 1793, remained in Edgefield District, South Carolina.

Henry was living 01 May 1819 when he witnessed a deed in Edgefield. No will or other probate records were filed for him in Edgefield District.

When and where did Henry Sr. die? Who was his wife? Did they have other children?
